Sacrament of Holy Order

A holy sacrament, a noble vocation
Holy Order

As young Catholics, we are all called by God to one of three different kinds of vocation. We may be chosen by God to live as married persons. Some of us are called to lead a consecrated life as members of a religious congregation - Revd Sisters and Brothers devoted to the work of God. We could also be unmarried parishioners faithfully dedicated to a life-long service to God.

A call to become a Catholic Priest, where a man is chosen by Our Lord Jesus Christ to lead the people of God in the Church, is a special one. Without a Catholic Priest, there is no Mass. The miracle of trans-substantiation, where the bread and wine are changed into the Body and Blood of Christ cannot take place without a priest celebrating a Holy Mass. Ultimately, it is the Lord who calls everyone to one form of vocation or the other.

We do need holy priests to lead our Church now more than ever. May our young men heed God's call to the priestly vocation. And may the graciuos God in His wisdom, provide many servants for the bountiful harvest of souls, Amen

Here I am Lord, I come to do your will...
