"The Eucharist is the efficacious sign and sublime cause of that communion in the divine life and that unity of the People of God by which the
Church is kept in being. It is the culmination both of God's action sanctifying the world in Christ and of
the worship men offer to Christ and through him to the Father in the Holy Spirit."
(Cathecism of Catholic Church, 1329)
Preparing for Holy Communion
The preparation for First Holy Communion is open to all children entering year 3 and above, for both children in Catholic and non-Catholic schools.
The preparation also combines that of the First Reconciliation. It starts in September and finishes just before the academic end-of-year the following year.
Children make their First Holy Communion after Easter, on a Saturday afternoon.
Preparation Course
The next preparation will begin in September, at the start of the new academic year.
Preparation Classes take place every other Sunday, from 9.30am to 12pm. The children
being prepared and their family are expected to attend Mass on a regular basis at this church.
Forms are available in the Parish. You can apply for this programme only if your child will at least be entering year 3 in September.
Children with Special Needs
The Parish prepares children with special needs to receive the Sacraments. Please contact the Catechetical Co-ordinator for further information.
